Fianna Fáil and those Seanad envelopes.

You may have heard – Fianna Fáil Senator Terry Leyden has cancelled an event in his family pub, that was due to take place tonight, following the disclosure that invitations were sent out in Seanad envelopes.

The Dáil bar, themed pub opened  in Mr Leyden’s home village of Castlecoote, County Roscommon. The great and the good of Fianna Fáil were expected to attend the event tonight, including party leader Micheál Martin and most of the Fianna Fáil parliamentary party.

The contents of this Seanad envelope was sent out last year by Fianna Fáil TD for Limerick, Niall Collins looking for a few bob. Not the most ethical use of Seanad envelopes.

Free envelopes is as good a reason as any to keep the Seanad.

Thanks to anonymous for the pic.
